Forsaken Isles is a stand-alone expansion featuring the same critically-acclaimed gameplay with a new Doom mechanic and a new "short game" mode.
Forsaken Isles introduces brand new locations, creatures, items and at least 4 new Adventurer classes each with their own unique dice, abilities and mechanics. All the Adventurers, creatures, items, and locations from any other Set a Watch game are fully compatible with this new standalone expansion and can be mixed and matched for more variety when playing.
The Adventurers in Forsaken Isles are a band of misfits gathered by the Queen Regent and sent out to sea to hunt down the Unhallowed threat. Each round, our adventurers will sail for new nautically themed locations and face a brand new creature deck centered around the impending Doom.
Forsaken Isles introduces a new camp board which features a new Camp Action and a place to track the new Doom mechanic. Many of the new cards in this set increase Doom. Whenever Doom exceeds 3, an Unhallowed is summoned to the end of the Line, the top card of the creature deck is added to the Horde, and then Doom resets. Each new Doomed Summon card gives players agency over this mechanic by letting them choose to gain Doom or exhaust a card. Bad things are brewing, but at least you get to choose what you face out at sea!
There is also a new "Gain Intel" action on the "Equip" camp space. This action lets you add an out of play Unhallowed card to the bottom of the Unhallowed deck. This helps prevent you from losing the game by decking out of Unhallowed and is vital for the Doomed Run campaign.
Last but not least, we have a new Hunt for the Kraken mode in Forsaken Isles that features only 5 rounds (instead of 9) against a mighty Kraken boss. In this mode, you swap out the Unhallowed deck for a prebuilt deck of Kraken cards and a specific final location. The Unhallowed deck is tiered to get progressively harder as you make your way towards the Beast's Lair! This mode effectively cuts your gameplay time in half, so it's a great way to enjoy Set a Watch when you're more crunched for time or as a warm-up to any roleplaying session.
